 The Rudd Government and I are committed to implementing a new reform agenda for the South.

 We have delivered on our election commitments including, $7.5 million upgrade of the intersection of Victor Harbor Road and Main South Road, $3.5 million on water re-use project in the McLaren Vale region, and $2 million for the Aldinga Recreation Centre.

 However, there is still more to be done. I will continue to fight hard, both in parliament and in our community, to build a competitive region capable of meeting the challenges of the 21st century.

Together we can make the South a stronger community.

Rudd Labor Government delivers on rail line to Seaford

I am pleased to confirm the extension of the rail line to Seaford is full steam ahead following a $291 million investment from the Rudd Labor Government.

The 5.5km extension of the Noarlunga line to Seaford will provide much needed infrastructure for the future prosperity of Southern Adelaide. New stations will be built at Seaford Meadow and Seaford rail terminus, and a 1.2km bridge over the Onkaparinga River.

This project has overwhelming support in the community and together we have won a huge victory for the South. The rail line will be a dramatic boost for residents and local businesses.

The project is expected to commence construction in 2010.

After years of inaction and delays, the Rudd Labor Government is ending the blame game on infrastructure - no more empty promises.
