Amanda has been fighting for the completion of the Coastal Trail to link Adelaide’s southern beaches and allow people to walk and cycle from Hallett Cove all the way to Sellicks Beach.
Southern Adelaide has some of the most beautiful coastline in the world and it should be easily accessible to all.
There are still a number of sections in the South yet to connected to the trail, including:-
- Witton Bluff (between Christies Beach and Port Noarlunga)
- Hallett Cove Foreshore
- Port Stanvac
- Moana Sandrs and Port Willunga.
Connecting these beaches will bring huge benefit to the local area. Not only will local residents have better access to their coastline, but a coastal trail will attract tourism and unlock great potential for the local economy.
At the last Federal Election, Amanda and Federal Labor committed funding for the Coastal Trail if elected. This was unmatched by the Liberal Government.
Likewise at the most recent State Election, the State Labor Party promised funding to complete sections of the trail if re-elected. This has been unmatched by the Liberal Marshall Government.
The Liberal Party, both State and Federal, have dragged their feet when it comes to this issue.
