Fix Flagstaff Road Now!
Despite the Liberal Party promising at the last state election to widen Flagstaff Road, the Marshall Government has now pushed the project off into the never-never.
It appears in the State Budget that not a single cent has been allocated to the project for at least two years. How long will we be waiting for the project to be completed if planning won’t even start until 2020?
The road in its current form is dangerous and confusing. One local resident described an incident where he was travelling down Flagstaff Road in the left lane and saw a bus travelling down the middle lane in the wrong direction.
There are also congestion issues along the road during peak hour for commuters from Flagstaff Hill, Aberfoyle Park and surrounding suburbs.
