South Australians can no longer trust that Malcom Turnbull and his Government will uphold the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
Their reaction last year to serious allegations of corruption and water theft from the River was to vote against Labor's motion to set up an independent judicial inquiry into the allegations.
Back in 2016 then Minister for Agriculture and Water, Barnaby Joyce, foreshadowed his intention to walk away from the Murray-Darling Basin Plan when he wrote to the South Australian Minister for Water and made it clear he had no intention of returning the full 3,200 gigalitres to the River.
The delivery of the full 3,200 gigalitres outlined in the Murray-Darling Basin Plan is essential in ensuring the survival of the Murray-Darling and restoring the health of the Basin.
The Murray-Darling Basin is the lifeblood of South Australia and the Liberal National Government is putting the future of the river and our State at risk.
South Australians must stand together and send a strong, clear message to this Government that they must commit to the full Plan, and they must act to protect our river.
