Malcolm Turnbull - properly fund our schools
In the 2017 Budget, Malcolm Turnbull and his Government handed down a $22 billion cut to our schools.
These cuts will impact Australian school children across all sectors - public, catholic, and independent.
South Austraila will lose $265 million in education funding. In Kingston, public schools alone will lose around $15 million.
Catholic schools will also be hit hard, with many saying the cuts will force them to raise fees or possibly close.
For schools across the country, particularly the most disadvantaged, these cuts will mean fewer teachers, less one-on-one attention from students, and less resources.
No matter where a child lives, what their background is, or what type of school they attend, every single child should have the same chance of succeeding at school and in life.
At the heart of this principle is proper, needs-based, sector-blind education funding.
Instead, Malcolm Turnbull is taking money from our school children and handing it to millionaires.
