2018 Southern Suburbs Youth Round Table
Amanda Recently held her 2018 Southern Suburbs Youth Round Table. The Round Table is an opportunity to give young people in our community the opportunity to meet with their Federal MP and discuss issues important to them.
It is always an informative discussion and a great opportunity for Amanda to hear directly from our young people.
A lot of important issues were raised at the roundtable. In particular the group was concerned about making it easier for people to transition from high school into work, education, and training.
Southern Suburbs Volunteer Service Awards November 2016
Amanda recently held her annual Southern Suburbs Volunteer Service Awards Ceremony - a day dedicated to celebrating some of the many volunteers who's commitment, passion and hard-work make our community a better place.
Amanda was joined by special guest speakers 7 News Adelaide journalist Jessica Adamson, Chief Officer of the SA Country Fire Service Greg Nettleton, EO of Southern Volunteering SA Inc Mel White, and CEO of Volunteering SA&NT Evelyn O'Loughlin. Students from Hallett Cove School also beautifully sung our national anthem and an original song.
The ceremony provided local organisations and our community at large with an opportunity to recognise and thank volunteers for their valuable contribution.
Amanda will again host this event in 2018.

Welcoming the Babies June 2017
Over 50 babies were welcomed into the Southern Adelaide community at Amanda's first Welcoming the Babies ceremony for 2017 on Thursday 8 June. It was a great day with many local families and caregivers attending.
Olympian Amber Halliday was the special guest speaker, and she spoke of her inspiring journey of parenthood and overcoming adversity. Many generous community organisations and businesses set up stalls and provided giveaways on the day, to help connect new parents with the services offered in our local area.
As always it was a fantastic morning and Amanda will host another ceremony in October.
2017 Winter Appeal
Again this winter Amanda's office collected donations for those in need, and the office was again overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community.
Over 90 individuals and 20 community groups brought in donations of food, blankets, knitted beanies and scarves, clothes, toiletries, and animal food to help those in need during the cooler months.
It is thanks to the generosity of the local community that thousands of dollars of donations were made to local charities - Anglicare Christies Beach, Junction Australia, St Vincent de Paul Noarlunga Conference, Vines Uniting Church, Flinders Foundation, and the RSPCA.
